One day basic defensive torch techniques course.

The Torch / flashlight are an instrument carried by just about every member of the Law Enforcement and or Security Agency worldwide. It is probably the most useful item carried. With the legal restraints we have in this country on anyone carrying a defensive weapon, it is vital that you as a member of the Law Enforcement / Security industry be capable of defending yourself and others from assault whilst remaining within the confines of the Law.

This course has been developed from various manuals written in the USA and personal experiences of our instructors. The course concentrates on the basic stance, patterns of movement, blocking, restraints and retention methods. They have deliberately been kept to a minimum, but each one is open to variations depending on individual ability.

COURSE PRINCIPLES

At the conclusion of the course the candidate will be able to write out with the aid of course notes and handouts: -

1.            Detail of the correct type of torch - flashlight to use
2.            The four basic methods of using the torch
3.            The Use of Force Principle.
4.            The legislation & Law relating to the use of force
